Yes, I’m back. I just came in from a very nice drink. I had a little Coronita or a Corona at a bar recently, and I’m feeling myself.  They gave me some little limes, I really do feel good. It’s good to be back on the road again. These last few days, this weekend, I spent kind of ramping up to really get into my travels.

I started this travel journal because I wanted to record some of the stuff that I experienced and some of my feelings and things that I did while I, you know— while I’m traveling. My last day of work was Friday. I left work early on Friday, and had lunch. I was feeling myself because everybody in the office knows that I’m going away. It’s going to be my opportunity to explore Argentina more. I didn’t choose to come here to Argentina only to work in the office and only to see Palermo and be around the neighborhood.

I did come here to see some other things. Not only that, but I want to see a little more of the country, and do a little exploration—see things that I’ve never seen before and immerse myself in the culture. Hopefully my little bit of Spanish that I speak is enough to guide me through some of these things that I’m about to experience. If today is any indication, I think I’ll be fine. I definitely got to order a beer and sat down and had polite conversation and it was fine. The Spanish that I’ve been practicing in the office with everybody, it’s really paid off.

It’s definitely paid off. But I moved back to Palermo. I wanted to see the neighborhood one last time, before I leave for a few nights. I rented to the nice little loft, it has this swing chair that I really look good in. It’s a nice little Airbnb that I found, and the owner, she seemed pretty cool. When I left there, she had asked me to put the key in the flower pot.

I think it was a flower pot, was it? Or the flower by the side of the door. It’s a little homely thing and Airbnb does make you feel like you’re at home sometimes wherever you are. You see the little touches of somebody else’s life in their apartment.  You see their shoes, you see how they’ve decorated it and the choices they’ve made with the decoration. It’s really cool to sometimes be able to experience that as a nomad. Airbnb, this is one of the perks of Airbnb.

Let’s fast-forward to when we go to Iguazu. Today I’m in Iguazu. Iguazu is an area of Argentina that is close to Iguazu Falls —it’s where it’s located. Iguazu Falls, is located in Iguazu. It’s a part of Argentina that is very close to the border: Tres Fronteras.  I landed today, and I decided not to stay in some fancy hotel. I wanted something that was right in town because I’m actually going to be going on the tour tomorrow and then leaving right after to go to the other side, go to Brazil. This is me wanted to stay in the town where it was really close to where I’m going to be taking the buses and also just to see some of the town.

There isn’t really much to see. It actually shuts down a lot at night. When I walked, it was really just three tourist shops that I saw and just a little bar for me to drink. I had a drink. The place that I’m staying at, it’s more of a dormitory style, a little full bed that does not look like it can support me. The window is over the bed.  It’s not really anything to talk about or to put out there. Sometimes seeing the contrast of the Airbnb to this space where somebody might live is like transient housing. I need to go to sleep, and I’m going to get my rest.

Signing off in Iguazú!
